Three months ago I wouldn’t have known how to write this blog post. Because 3 months ago I had written 2 blog posts. Today I have 85 blog posts and thousands of words displayed across my website! In a few days I’ll be sharing about my journey to 90 blogs posts in 91 days, but for now I want to talk about what it takes to blog regularly without going crazy.

4 Handy Hints to Help You Blog Regularly Without Going Crazy

While I’m not suggesting that you need to do a blog post a day like I’ve been doing lately, blogging is a great way to drive traffic to your site and position yourself as an expert in your field.

But for many newbies to the world of online business it can feel incredibly daunting trying to come up with a schedule for regular blogging.

So here are 4 tips to help you blog regularly without going crazy.

1. Talk about the same thing but from many different angles.

In the world of online business you don’t want to be a Jack of all trades. You want to be specific and simplify your message in order to grow your audience and get customers.

Many people think that they have to talk about a gazillion different things in order to become known as a blogger or an online service provider.

However the reality is that to develop a strong brand and build your following you can’t be confusing people. You have to keep things simple.

What is the main message that your blog is about? How do you help people get what they want? What problems do you help them overcome? Talk about it.

Here’s a secret–I’ve basically written this blog post many times already. Whether I’m talking about how to create daily inspired content, or how to write a blog post in under an hour or how to blog regularly without going crazy, essentially all these blog posts tell a similar story.

2. Set yourself a time limit.

People go crazy trying to get a blog post out because they spend so much time overcoming distractions. If every two minutes you’re checking your phone, browsing other websites and looking at your TV screen then it’s going to be easy to lose your train of thought and need to reset.

I highly recommend setting yourself a time limit and sticking to your goal.

This will require you to turn off the TV, put your phone on silent and close down all others browsers. It will also require you to exercise some discipline!

3. Break your blog posts up into points.

I’ve found that one of the easiest ways to blog regularly without going crazy is to simplify the process.

Before getting started on a blog post decide on the main topic and 3-5 points you want to discuss. In this post I knew that I could offer some blogging tips so before I even start the first paragraph I went ahead and wrote the tip out as an outline.

That way when it comes time to write you already know what you want to elaborate on and it makes the process far more simple.

4. Don’t go overboard.

Say what you need to say and then bounce.

There’s no need to force yourself to write thousands of words in one blog post just because you think you should. There are many different opinions about the most beneficial length of a blog post for SEO purposes but from a service stand-point, the faster you get to the point the more likely your people are to listen.

I also have to say–don’t go overboard with perfectionism. Done is better than perfect.

While I’m not suggesting that you compromise the quality of your work, I am saying that reviewing your blog post 15 times before hitting publish is likely killing your flow.

So release the need for perfect, don’t go overboard and enjoying the process of sharing your message with the world.
