That’s no fun if you’re feeling stuck and uninspired!

You are meant to live a creative, fulfilling and exciting life. I’ve been stuck in a rut more times than I actually care to admit. And I’ve felt at times like I was flaky and lazy, when in reality I wanted to do more. I just felt completely uninspired and clueless about how to just snap out of it. If this resonates with you, then keep reading. I’m about to share five of my best tips for how to find inspiration when you feel uninspired!

I used the exact tips I’m about to share with you to write 90 blog posts in 91 days. It was a really emotional and difficult time in my life. Running a part time business, working a full time job and going through a temporary separation from my husband. The question that I got asked the most was, “How are you actually inspired to create so much content?”

And my answer was always, “I take the time to get inspired.”

One of the biggest misconceptions about inspiration is that we have to wait for it to actually come to us. When the reality is that we have to create physical and mental space to actually allow inspiration to come in.

So how do you find inspiration when you feel uninspired?

If you’re keen to dive even deeper into this topic, check out my previous blog post about branding yourself uniquely. Also, come check out my Youtube channel for more content! I release new videos every Thursday.

Just slow down.

Sometimes I find that people move so fast in life they never give themselves the space to actually slow down. To reflect upon what it is that they want, allow the spirit to actually move through them and inspiration to come to them.

If you’re always on the go and you’re always filling your mind with so many other things, it can be hard to find inspiration. So take the time to just slow down. You’ll be surprised by what comes to you.

 Surround yourself with inspiring people.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve been incredibly intentional about who I choose to surround myself with. You’ve probably heard that you are the sum of the five people that you spend the most time around. So it’s important that the people in your immediate environment have big visions for their lives. That they’re inspired and motivated to create the life of their dreams. That they are motivated to actually create something special and to do more in their lives.

Who is the most inspiring person that you follow or know? Let me know in the comments below so that I can be sure to check them out.

Consume inspiring content.

We are in a day and age where we spend so much time consuming content. We’re scrolling through our Facebook feeds, our Instagram feeds, and we’re taking in so much content. It’s so important that the content that you choose to consume is inspiring for you.

A couple of years ago, I remember my husband came to me and he said, “We have to do more and we have to create our businesses.” He encouraged me to listen to Jim Rohn, Les Brown, Marie Forleo and and Oprah and all these inspiring people on YouTube. I found that as I started to learn and be inspired by other people, I felt more inspired to create my own unique content.

You have to choose to be inspired rather than simply entertained.

Prioritize fun and pleasure.

This is one of my favorite tips because my focus on fun in my life has been one of the most powerful healers and creators. Gabby Bernstein has this amazing deck of cards called The Universe Has Your Back. And one of my favorite cards in that pile says “Joy is the ultimate creator”. You must seek out fun and pleasure in our life on a regular basis if we wish to be inspired and in a position to actually create. Joy is the ultimate creator.

Take action. Even when you don’t feel like it.

About a year ago I started writing a book. And it’s truly been one of the hardest things that I’ve ever done in my life or in my business. Somewhere along the way, I decided that I was going to hire a book writing coach to support me in my journey.

I remember saying to her one day, “Danielle, this is so hard. I’m feeling so uninspired.”

And she said to me, “The biggest difference between somebody that finishes their book and somebody that doesn’t is that the person who finishes their book understands that they don’t always have to feel inspired to actually take action.”

When you take action, despite how uninspired you may feel, inspiration will begin to flow in.

I’ve also found that when you have a strong sense of who you are and your purpose, finding ways to be inspired becomes that little bit easier. So I created a FREE four page guide with 57 self-discovery questions to bring you closer to yourself and your purpose.
