Today is Thanksgiving here in the United States and as I’m sitting down to write the 82nd blog post I’ve written in the past 83 days I have to remind myself of just how happy I am to have my very own online business. Sometimes it can feel tough finding things to be thankful for in online business when your friends and family are out and about being social and your glued to your computer screen.
Occasionally you may just need a little reminder of all the incredible things that come with being your own boss. So I’m here to give you a little reminder.
Here are 5 things to be thankful for in online business.
1. Being in control of your day.
There’s not too many things better than waking up in the morning and knowing that you’re in control of the structure of your day.
You get to choose what to work on first, when and where you’ll work, and if you’ll even work at all. You can decide on when to take your lunch break and if you’ll work in bed or at your local coffee shop.
Having an online business means you aren’t tied to any location.
2. You can be social whenever you like.
I started this blog post with an example of being stuck working while your friends and family are being social, but the reality is that you still get to choose.
You have the freedom and the flexibility to take off time during the holiday season if you want, to go to brunch on a weekday if you want and to jet-set abroad whenever your heart desires.
3. You determine how much money you make.
You get to choose everything from how you’ll price your packages, products and services to how much you’ll take home from your sales.
You get to choose how often you want to work.
The sky really is the limit because there is no cap to how much you can make or what you are capable of. It’s up to you to decide how much you believe is possible for you and how willing you are to make it happen.
4. You can create jobs.
This is one of the coolest things to be thankful for in online business! I can’t say I have a big team at all. Right now I have a virtual assistant, a bookkeeper and a gal that handles my Pinterest account.
But I’m really looking forward to the day that I can provide many jobs to many people.
5. That you can easily connect with people all over the world.
I’m a bit of a social butterfly–how about you? There’s this common misconception that having an online business means that you become anti-social, but that just isn’t true!
If you’re intentional about building relationships then you are able to connect with people in countries all around the world on a similar path to you. I’ve met some of my business besties on Facebook and Instagram.
Not to mention the many opportunities you have to connect with and serve clients from all around the world.
